Bye Bye UK

This is a quote from a friend of mine:

================================================== ==================================
Any new IMG (International Medical Graduate) who's coming to UK seeking a TRAINING job has a hope of exactly zilch to get into any kind of training.
Please guys, forget about UK.. Thousands of doctors are/will leave UK in the next couple of months. Even people who have already spent 5+ years in UK doing SHOs and even Research for PHD are NOT exempted from the new draconian decree, anyone who still have a hope please read the following links and try to understand that there is no more UK for anyone even those who's father owns a hospital in UK and/or a close friend to the Minister of Health!!!!!

So... In short... any foreigner who is holding any medical job (training or non-training) in UK (even registrars and consultants) will have to leave UK when they finish their contracts unless they could secure a new job under the new law which is clearly IMPOSSIBLE. it's now ILLEGAL to appoint an IMG for a job while there's ANY EU doctor that want that job REGARDLESS of qualifications..
Well, you also need to know that there are some exceptions currently… people who could obtain a permanent residence by marriage are exempted of course because they are almost British citizens, those who have successfully applied for high skilled immigration programme MIGHT be exempted from the new law they haven’t yet cleared that off.
Also, people who is already in F1 posts will most probably secure an F2 posts because until now you can’t get into F2 posts from outside the foundation system (i.e. to apply to F2 you have to be F1) so people who are already doing F1 have a huge chance of getting into F2 since no EU or even British doctors who are not F1 doctors can apply.. given that F2 numbers are almost the same or sometimes even more than F1 posts so they will find themselves obliged to accept IMGs that are currently F1. However for us there’s no hope at all to get and F1 under the new laws as applying for F1 posts is entirely online. So after you clear IELTS and PLABs (the two parts) then go to UK and do clinical attachments, do inductions and courses and spending lots of money. Someone polish or Hungarian fresh graduate will apply online and will have priority over you even if you are the BEST CANDIDATE (see the protest site)
Penultimately, I should also indicate that one might find a trust job (non-training) that circulates in six-month contracts. However that’s not something worth the preparation for PLAB and the traveling and living expenses until you can get to these… needless to say that polish guys will be all over the place that even those jobs will be extremely hard to get into.
So, ultimately, my advice to all of us is to start preparing the USMLE and pray to God that U.S. will not come up with something similar to this.

Just my 0.02

GAME OVER in UK

Hi guys,
I am doing an elective now and i'm closer to the situation than you . please guys start your preparation for the USMILE exams and stop thinking of UK , I have met lot of international doctors here who have done about two years as SHO and they have already begun preparation for Step1 , if you talk with british doctor he will say that the new law is not fair and stupid but you can see the happiness shining out of his eyes.
After the furor of the abuse to the holy prophet Mohammad and beside that my name "Mahmoud" is similar to his name , and of course my arabic style , and although the majority of cambridge people are so civilized and educated persons ,,,but i still face lot of neglect here from the doctors , their behaviour changes completely when they know that my name is mahmoud

THEY DON'T WANT US ANYMORE espicially the muslims .

And i curse my bad luck that i had come to here just 4 days before the new law was released .

Good luck

Dear Xavi

How are you doctor

as I thinks you're supposed to be Mahmoud Ziedan, I'm Alaa Bassout's Brother, a 4th year dental student , I'm preparing to take the IQE exam similar to your PLAB one, so do you think that new rules affect me too

I'm planning to go to london this summer to do an elective at kings college london, and I got the VISA from two days ago, but I'm confused a bit about the future, thus I would be grateful if you could advise me and ask any overesas dentist in UK to contact me.

Thanks in advavce
